I quit my job
« on: January 09, 2023, 05:54:48 am »
cause i won $10 in the lottery!

well, i did but i also quit my job last month.    we just returned from 5 week holiday, was such a great trip out and great to be in the city with the family.    wonderful food, great amusement rides, won $500 at the casino and lost it back.    not any more but not like first trip where we cleared a few thousand.    but we didn't lose any more so oh well.

but while we were out, i applied on a job with the local government.    I will be the Assist Chief Administrative Officer.     overall, without the overtime it might not be more money.    sure the starting is more than current job and will be quite busy.   but I will not have to complete any fuel ships anymore and be gone for a month.    huge incentive there.    we are excited

Congrats, Slakr!

As you all know, I'm this forum's drunken retard, yet, last year I hooked up a sweet job. I'm finally doing well.

I now write for the CVS Healthcare website for $130,000 a year salary, plus 18% of my salary in a bonus. I love it! I write the online portion of the website where one orders their prescriptions. I help folks easily buy their meds online. I dig it!

I intend, and hope to, keep this job until I retire.

Damn.   I cant believe its been 3 weeks at my new job already.    A couple of hiccups.   Overflowed a water jug waiting to fill while i put coffee grounds in the basket too.   Aha    nothing big but funny.

A lot of positives.   One of the foreman who report to me tell me that a lot of the guys tell him that things have improved in many areas and morale is up.    So its been busy but going well so far.

Things are a little tight as i didnt know old work holds last pay for 2 to 4 weeks after you finish to check leave credits and who owes what and new job only paid 3 days of the first lay period so whatever

So in discussions with a few members of administration, they have received numerous calls from members of the public and staff that over the last 3 months they have noticed staff morale, productivity and the general tone of operations have improved significantly.   Now, it has been a group effort to have staff buy into the changes which have been initiated but a couple of council members and mayor himself have told me to keep doing what has been started and they are very happy i have been here.

That being said i know we have a lot more to do and will not sit back and let off the momentum
