animals and their gestation time versus intelligence
« on: July 20, 2016, 11:53:04 am »
My friend's chijuauauanana is pregnant, and it will last 69 days.  Once the puppies come out, they're pretty self sufficient after about 5 weeks.

Humans take 9 months and they're self sufficient after about 8 years.

Mantatees aka Seanieptees 13 months!
Camels 13-14 months

Giraffes 300-460 and can stand when they're born.
Rhinos 450 days
Walrus 15-16 months

Dolphins who are arguably just as intelligent as humans have a gestation period of 10-12 months

Killer whales = 15-18 months...

Elephants come out pretty much sufficient  and they're pregnant for a year and half!

Elephants can recognize themselves in a mirror.  And they have the biggest brain of any land mammal.

Frilled shark = 3.5 years of pregnancy.

Its wilderness!

YUO! Are a horsetoothed Jenny!

"Donkeys
A female donkey, known as a jenny or a mare, typically gives birth to one foal after about a year after mating, but some pregnancies can last nearly 14 months."

I always thought gestation was a function of size.  Bigger, more time.

If we hadn't figured out how to make tools, our bobble-headed, helpless-ass offspring would just be tiger food.

I'm a mono loco.

(I'm chatting with a gal in Spain right now on chaturbate.com. She is teaching me Spanish. She says I'm a mono loco: crazy monkey. Heh. PS: She is clothed. Not for long though.)

Boing!

Listen you fucking chatterbaters... I am on to some serious science shit.

I think we might be inferior to dolphins or elephants... sure we can do cruel things to both, and neither has thumbs, yet we are the sacks of shit destroying each other and our own environment.

I wonder what tastes better.  Dolphin or elephant.  I would go with Dolphin, they have shinier skin.

Well if u want to get all existential scientific.

Yes humans seem to take several years or a longer period than other animals to become self sufficient

The theory is we come with small undeveloped brains, because our heads need to exit the birth canal

Most animals have large birth canals, and the offspring when born is the equivalent to a 2 year old child

Yes, we are inferior to other animals in the rate of development and self sufficiency, but the way we deal with that evolutionary disadvantage is to rely on our social structure to care for the child until his brain is fully developed

than we kill the other animals

debunked! i have seen some pretty large human birth canals.  unfortunately.  and unscientifically, there is a correlation with that and piles of stupid children. so is perv preggers? with an elephant baby?
